CHRIS SARFIN is a visual person in his roles as writer, producer and director, with a focus on immersive storytelling and attention to detail that brings these tales to life. While valuing traditional techniques of composition, he also incorporates themes of hope in his work.
From a young age, Chris developed a love for storytelling, using his toy projector to present his illustrated characters against the living room wall. A few days after graduating Hofstra University, with the Film Studies & Production curriculum under his belt (and where he produced and directed short films along the way), Chris landed a gig working at Paramount Pictures. He grabbed the biggest suitcase he could find and moved cross country to Hollywood.
Soon, Chris was working for the critically acclaimed production company Zadan/Meron Productions under producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, helping develop numerous feature films, television shows, live shows, Broadway shows and other formats.
Chris has developed his craft in all types of storytelling, including short-form content. He often storyboards his projects and visually plans out the execution of his productions. "The process of telling stories is as important as the stories themselves," Chris believes.
Having worked on over a hundred films and tv shows, Chris has collaborated with the most prominent filmmakers, actors, and musicians in Hollywood. He is currently developing several of his own projects, the most recent of which—the short film Scavenger—he wrote, produced and directed.
With a desire to illuminate heartfelt and uplifting stories, Chris's goal is to have his audience leave the theatre smiling and feeling more positive than when they arrived, just as he did as a young boy with a toy projector.
